The hero narrates the story as he is headed to the Albanian town of Delvine. With his mule loaded with pharmaceuticals and himself exhausted he is asking for refuge in a nearby house. After the old man at the house denies the soldier to enter in an attempt to hide his wounded son who fights with the Axis side, he finally let's the Greek soldier in. The old man offers him food and liquor, his hesitation retreats as the Greek soldier is pretending to have met one of his sons in Argentina. The old man then reveals his wounded son to the Greek soldier who is taking care of him. Despite the opposite sides, it is like war is not taking place. At dawn the Greek soldier continues his journey.
